Bratslavsky Consulting Engineers, Inc., an engineering & construction management company is currently looking to hire a full-time Construction Inspector (CI) to provide construction inspection services in Ketchikan, Alaska. The Construction Inspector will be responsible for the following: • Monitor quality of construction activities, provide assurance that construction contractors are providing quality control. • Inspect on-going construction, document problems, and recommend solutions, in professional manner. • Perform constructability reviews of project and contract documents. • Coordinate between fieldwork, affected organizations, and government. • Work with local client staff to explain and inform on construction activities. Place of Performance: Ketchikan, Alaska Salary: $100,000.00 - $128,000.00 per year Benefits: • 401(k) • 401(k) matching • Dental insurance • Health insurance • Paid time off • Vision insurance Schedule: 8-hour day shift Monday to Friday Minimum Experience/Technical Requirements for Construction Inspectors Experienced Tradesperson Inspector: • High School Level Education • At least 10 years total experience in Construction/Facility Management, Construction Supervision, Construction Management, or Quality Control. • At least 5 years of construction oversight experience w/in the last 10 years on projects with a construction dollar value of approximately $500K-$5M (per project). • Experience with design-build, or design-bid-build contracts. • Experience as a construction superintendent, providing both supervision and QA/QC duties. • Experience with facility and building systems (building envelope, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and structural, etc.) as well as managing all building trades, subcontracts and construction safety. • Demonstrated hands-on experience in inspecting facilities and construction for compliance with contract requirements. • Physically, workers must be able to; climb and maintain body balance; use hands and arms fully; stand, kneel, bend, crawl, or crouch for long periods; and see well (either naturally or with correction). Engineer/Architect Inspector: • 4-year Architecture/Engineering Degree • At least 5 years total experience inspecting or managing multiple construction contracts. • At least 3 years of construction oversight experience w/in the last 7 years on projects with a construction dollar value of approximately $500K-$5M (per project). • Experience with design-build, or design-bid-build contracts. • QA/QC inspector experience and knowledge of managing multi-trade construction projects. • Demonstrated hands-on experience in inspecting facilities and construction for compliance with contract requirements. • Physically, workers must be able to; climb and maintain body balance; use hands and arms fully; stand, kneel, bend, crawl, or crouch for long periods; and see well (either naturally or with correction).
