Construction Manager

Job Title: Construction Manager Location: Ketchikan, AK Job Type: Full-time / On-site Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Construction Manager to oversee construction projects from start to finish. The ideal candidate will manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensure that work is completed on time, within budget, and in accordance with safety and quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills to coordinate teams, contractors, and vendors, while ensuring compliance with regulations. Key Responsibilities: • Project Planning & Management: • Develop project schedules and timelines. • Oversee the execution of construction projects from initiation to completion. • Ensure all construction activities comply with legal, safety, and environmental regulations. • Maintain budget and ensure projects are delivered within financial constraints. • Review and approve project plans, blueprints, and specifications. • Team Leadership: • Supervise and direct on-site construction teams, subcontractors, and vendors. • Provide mentorship, training, and guidance to team members to promote a collaborative and safe work environment. • Ensure effective communication between all team members, clients, and stakeholders. • Budget & Cost Control: • Monitor project budgets and expenses, ensuring costs are managed effectively. • Approve purchase orders and change orders as required. • Manage resources, materials, and equipment to optimize project cost-efficiency. • Quality Control & Safety: • Ensure all construction work meets quality standards and regulatory compliance. • Implement safety protocols and enforce the use of protective equipment on-site. • Conduct regular site inspections to identify and mitigate safety hazards. • Client & Stakeholder Relations: • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders. • Provide regular project updates, progress reports, and address any concerns or issues. • Manage client expectations and negotiate changes or adjustments to scope, timeframes, or costs as necessary. • Documentation & Reporting: • Maintain detailed records of project progress, budget reports, and daily activities. • Prepare and submit regular reports to upper management or clients. • Ensure proper documentation for compliance, safety, and regulatory needs. Required Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience). • 5 years of experience in construction management, ideally with a focus on seafood processing / living facilities. • Strong understanding of construction processes, techniques, and regulations. • Proven ability to manage projects of varying sizes and complexity. • Strong leadership skills with experience managing diverse teams. • Exceptional problem-solving, organizational, and time management abilities.
