Renewable Energy Lab Manager

Position Summary: The R&D Renewable Energy Lab Manager will lead the day-to-day operations of the Renewable Energy Lab, overseeing testing, innovation, and development of new technologies in the solar and clean energy space. This role will ensure lab safety, supervise a team of engineers and technicians, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to support product development and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities: • Manage daily operations of the Renewable Energy Lab, ensuring safety, compliance, and efficiency • Lead testing efforts for solar products, inverters, battery storage, and related components • Supervise and mentor lab technicians and junior engineers • Develop and execute test plans for new product prototypes and enhancements • Maintain and calibrate lab equipment and testing tools • Analyze data, prepare technical reports, and present findings to stakeholders • Collaborate with product development, engineering, and quality assurance teams • Oversee lab inventory and procurement of parts, tools, and materials • Ensure all procedures comply with internal standards and external regulations • Stay current on industry trends and emerging technologies in renewable energy Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field (Master’s preferred) • 5+ years of experience in an R&D or product testing environment, preferably in renewable energy • 2+ years of leadership or management experience • Hands-on experience with solar PV systems, inverters, battery storage, and lab instrumentation • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills • Experience with data acquisition systems and technical report writing • Working knowledge of industry standards (UL, IEEE, NEC, etc.) • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment Physical Requirements: This position may require the ability to perform tasks that involve sitting, standing, walking, lifting, computer work and other physical activities.
