Position Overview: We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Operator in Ithaca, NY. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the operation and maintenance of heavy equipment used in utility-scale solar projects such as Bulldozer, excavator, mini-excavator and skid steer to complete civil work. • NY Resident Preferred Not Required • Long Term, permanent position • Approximately 70% of projects are prevailing wage ranging at $65-80 HR, Non-prevailing wage at $35 HR • Per Diem Available (work days only) • Client provides lodging (work days only) Responsibilities: • Equipment Operation: Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment, such as excavators, bulldozers, skid steers and other machinery, in the execution of utility-scale solar projects. • Site Preparation: Assist in site preparation activities, including grading, excavation, and leveling, to ensure optimal conditions for solar module installation; IE: Build or expanding roads, hauling materials, trenching or drainage prep. • Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functionality, identifying and addressing issues promptly. • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to maintain a secure work environment for yourself and your team. • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, construction teams, and fellow operators to achieve project goals within specified timelines.
