A Snapshot of Your Day This role is located at Oso Grande Windfarm in Maljamar, NM. This is considered an entry level role in the Wind Turbine Industry. You’ll be responsible for the service and maintenance of Siemens Gamesa wind turbines at the site. The selected candidate will provide excellent service for our customers, complete technical work orders, interact with teammates, and have a safety-first mentality. A background in skilled trades, or other technical work experience is preferred, but not required. How You’ll Make An Impact • Contributes to the improvement of new and updated field procedures and standard methodologies. • Ability to work inside the wind turbine enclosures at an elevated height of 300 feet. • Our technicians need to think clearly and maintain composure during stressful and sometimes hazardous situations. Being composed is essential to success in the position. • Physical requirements of the job include but not limited to: Ladder climbing minimum 267 steps, up stair climbing, standing for long periods, walking, lifting, bending, twisting, work above shoulders, pushing, pulling, exposure to vibration, chemicals, confined spaces, use of various hand tools and extreme weather conditions. • Capable of efficiently tackling additional roles and responsibilities at an operating wind farm. What You Bring • High school diploma or equivalent is required. A technical college degree, certification(s), or apprenticeships in a field related to the work of a wind farm technician ie: electrical / mechanical systems is desirable. Various combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered. • Demonstrated ability to work safely and effectively in a team environment. Must meet body weight restrictions of 265 pounds or less as required by the safety regulations. Must pass a physical administered by a medical practitioner to ensure ability to safely perform the job functions and meet the physical demands of the position • Strong ability to prioritize and plan daily/weekly work with a high level of quality orientation, ability to analyze and resolve problems independently. • Hands experience working with electrical systems including PLC programming and converters is preferred but not required. • Experience interacting with customers at various levels of responsibility within their respective organizations. Driving is a crucial function of the job and applicants must have a valid driver’s license at the time of application with a clean driving record. Employees must maintain a valid license and acceptable driving record and may be subject to periodic DMV checks throughout employment with Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy., Qualified applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States.
