Wind Tech (Entry to level II)

REQUIRED EDUCATION: • High school diploma or equivalent. • Technical degree in wind generation, electrical technology, electronics/fiber technology, mechanical maintenance technology, or related field highly desirable. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Industrial experience preferred Wind Tech I: No experience required. Wind Tech II: One year or more technical wind industry experience, OR in absence of technical wind industry experience, three years or more experience working with hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical maintenance. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: • These positions report regularly in person within the ALLETE Renewable Resources service territory • Must be able to work outdoors in inclement weather, climb ladders without assistance, and work at heights greater than 250 feet from the ground surface. • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license as some travel may be required • Must obtain Commercial Applicator Certification within six months of hire. • First aid, CPR, AED, high angle rope rescue certification, forklift certification, and OSHA 10 certification preferred. • This position may be subject to assessment of skills, job match and/or aptitude This Candidate Pool may be used to fill openings until December 15, 2024. Lead Wind Energy Geotechnical Specialist

Geotechnical Engineering Specialist We seek a highly skilled Geotechnical Engineering Specialist to join our Renewable Energy Team, focusing on wind energy development. This role manages moderate to complex geotechnical projects, providing technical expertise to exceed client expectations. • Develop scopes of work and prepare proposals for engineering projects, primarily in wind energy. • Prepare project plans and budgets, ensuring timely completion and budget adherence. • Review field logs and soil samples for classification and boring log preparation. • Perform engineering analysis using company methodologies. • Make geotechnical recommendations and prepare engineering reports for senior review. • Manage routine to complex engineering projects, including project scope, schedule, and safety. • Work independently on specific assignments with Senior review. • Perform quality review of work performed by assigned staff; identify, investigate, and resolve internal and external quality issues on projects. • Coordinate with regional operations to effectively coordinate staff, resources, and workloads. • Ensure client expectations are met or exceeded. Required Skills: • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail. • Strong organization and customer service skills. • Ability to exceed client expectations in a time-critical/dynamic work environment. • Ability to work both independently and as a team member. • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint.
