Looking for experienced welder fabricator that can stick weld in all positions. We are repairing Rock/Sand Hopper barges. The work is performed in the wing tanks and hoppers. Must demonstrate the ability to weld all positions with wet and rusty thin metal. Must be able to enter the barge man hole covers and climb down 12' ladder. Previous Dry dock experience is a plus. Monday thru Friday 10 hour days and 6 hours on Saturday. Job Duties: • Measure, cut, and join appropriate metals to specifications • Use grinder to smooth and clean as appropriate • Inspect work and fill/repair as necessary • Test the strength of each joint during and after project completion • Identify hazards, defects and needs for adjustments to ensure compliance with applicable codes, laws, working practices, and health and safety • Clean and maintain all equipment and tools and keep work areas neat • The above list of duties is not to be construed as an exhaustive list.
