Solar Site Surveyor

Location: Williamsport, PA and surrounding areas Department: Field Operations Job Type: Contract About Helios Solar Consulting LLC Helios Solar is the nation's leading third party solar site survey provider. We specialize in partnering with companies of all sizes to provide services at industry-leading quality by imparting the data they need to determine their project’s scope of work. Helios Solar is a trusted partner by many of the household names in the residential solar industry. We are looking for highly motivated and reliable individuals to perform site surveys on residential properties on a contract basis. As a site surveyor, your primary responsibility is to gather home condition data, photos, and measurements through a guided template via mobile application. Punctuality, thoroughness, timeliness, and attention to detail, and professional customer service are critical for this position. About the Role As a Solar Site Surveyor, you're the boots-on-the-ground expert who makes sure every solar installation starts with the right data. You'll visit customer properties, evaluate site conditions, and collect detailed measurements, photos, and notes to enable accurate system design, permitting, and installation. You're key to keeping projects moving smoothly from sale to install. Key Responsibilities • Travel to residential and/or commercial sites to perform solar site surveys • Take detailed roof and electrical measurements, shade readings, and structural info • Capture high-quality photos and documentation of roof layout, obstructions, panel location, meter, main service panel, subpanels, etc. • Use tools like drones to assess irradiance and production potential • Upload and organize site data in CRM or project management tools • Communicate findings clearly to design, engineering, and operations teams • Flag any potential install or code compliance issues • Maintain professionalism and a solid customer-facing presence during site visits • Follow safety protocols while working on ladders, rooftops, or with electrical equipment What We’re Looking For • 1+ year of experience in solar, construction, surveying, or related field • Comfortable with hand tools, ladders, roof work, and outdoor conditions • Tech-savvy enough to work with tablets, apps, and cloud-based platforms • Solid understanding of building/roof structures, electrical systems, and solar basics • Sharp attention to detail—accuracy matters here • Strong communicator who can explain what you’re doing and why to a customer • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record Job Type: Contract Pay: $60.00 - $75.00 per hour Expected hours: 25 – 40 per week Physical Setting: • Construction site Schedule: • 8 hour shift • Day shift • Monday to Friday • Weekends as needed Work Location: On the road
