UP Talent is seeking a Solar Technician in Union City, TN, with at least 1 year of utility solar technician experience. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, commissioning systems, and performing routine maintenance. Candidates should have hands-on experience in renewable energy and a valid driver’s license. Solar Technicians (Operations and Maintenance Utility Solar) Looking for an experienced Utility PV/BESS Solar Field Technician to fill our open role. Must have at least 1 year in utility solar technician experience to apply! Summary: • Location: Union City, TN • Pay rate $30-$38hr (depending on experience.) • Local candidates preferred • Utility solar technician reporting to the same site every day Responsibilities: • Troubleshoot daily project system issues to meet uptime goals. • Commission Systems. • BESS Battery Experience is a PLUS. • Diagnose and troubleshoot various project systems issues such as inverters, switchgear, transformers, breakers, communications equipment, etc. • Follow maintenance schedules and perform routine maintenance (PMs, start-up tests, etc.) on equipment and determine when and what kind of maintenance is needed before elevating the problems to Operations & Maintenance Manager. • Identify potential problems and suggest changes or corrective actions. • Work with other members of the maintenance team to continuously improve system performance, drive product quality and maintenance cost improvement. • LOTO procedures daily. Requirements: • Minimum 1-5+ years of hands-on experience in field work; renewable energy (Solar, wind or similar) environment is an asset. • HS Diploma or GED required. • NABCEP, NFPA, OSAH Certifications is a plus. • Experience in troubleshooting and repairing various types of electrical machinery and equipment. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, drawings, manuals, and specifications • Must have a valid driver’s license.
