The Solar Field Service Technician is responsible for the operation and maintenance (O&M) of solar power plants in accordance with established preventative and corrective maintenance standards while always maintaining safety and professionalism. These are local sites-candidates should reside within 50 miles of the Huntsville, Alabama areas. Core Responsibilities • Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance of Solar Utility and Sub-Station equipment. • Responsible for documentation including, but not limited to, work orders, time logs, inventory control, and emergency information schedules. • Provide a working knowledge of troubleshooting electrical components with help and use of digital multi-meters, meggers, amp clamps, and similar equipment. • Testing/troubleshooting installed solar equipment and ensuring proper working order. • Must have a strong safety background with experience in Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA). • Able work in a solo as well as a group environment. • Operate and maintain a motor vehicle safely and legally per the PEARCE Renewables Employee Handbook and insurance requirements. Specific duties may vary or evolve over time based on business and client needs. Core Experience • 2+ years’ experience in Commercial/Industrial operations and maintenance (O&M) on solar power plants is preferred. • Preventative Maintenance experience on Solar Utility equipment is preferred. • Candidates should possess strong mechanical and electrical experience with troubleshooting and installation skills. • Specific solar experience with Inverters, Tracker Systems, or Sub-Stations Equipment (TMEIC/SMA/Sungrow/Nextracker/ATI, etc.) is preferred. • Takes initiative to escalate issues at site. • Ability to train, mentor, and develop laborers into Apprentices. • High aptitude and a strong work ethic are a must.
