Sheet Metal Fabricator

If you're a seasoned roofer and/or sheet metal fabricator on the lookout for a fresh opportunity, Steinrock Roofing & Sheet Metal, Inc. in Louisville, KY wants you to join their team. While we're seeking experienced sheet metal fabricators we are also looking for experience in carpentry specifically roofing. This is a niche roofing business specializing in custom sheet metal fabrication. The roofing aspect can be taught through training and certifications. Description below is for sheet metal as well as some roofing aspects. What You'll Be Doing: • Reading and interpreting engineering blueprints. • Constructing base templates if necessary. • Measuring and marking out cutting and bending lines. • Setting up metalwork machinery including rollers, drill presses, flame cutters, brakes, and shears. • Double-checking design specifications before commencing with cutting work. • Fabricating and constructing metal components. • Grinding and finishing completed products. • Performing quality checks on completed products. • Conforming with state and company safety regulations. • Completing job reports • Assist job Foreman in their daily tasks and duties to help complete jobs on time and within budget. • Measure, cut, bend, set, screw down, tighten, and connect material and other components during various stages of the completion process. • Utilize tools such as, Tape Measure, Impact Drills, Aviation Snips, Ropes, Safety Anchors, Lanyards, Rivet Drivers, Hand seamers, Mechanical seamers, and other basic construction tools to accomplish each project • Keep work area and job site clean and orderly as possible to prevent injuries, fatalities, or other safety related incidents. • Look and perform professionally at all times • Communicate well with Foreman, Site Superintendent and others you may come into contact with on the job site. Minimum Qualifications • Minimum of one year experience with sheet metal fabrication or related field. • Able to lift weight of 40lbs without assistance, but not to exceed 60lbs. • Able to withstand prolonged exposure to temperatures in excess of 110 degrees. • Able to stand for long periods of time, bend over, kneel, and be in unnatural positions for extended periods of time. • Able to dawn all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Hard hat, safety glasses (ANSI Z-87 rating only), steel toe boots, cut resistant hand protection, full body harness, face shields, and hearing protection when necessary. • Able to learn, work as part of a team, and be dependable each day to accomplish the tasks required of you. • Able to climb and descend ladders, scaffolding, and other working platforms • Able to pass a pre-employment drug test as well as random drug tests throughout career. • Must be able to pass a background check. • Authorized to work for any U.S. employer. • Prior experience in Commercial Construction About the Company: Rest assured, Steinrock Roofing & Sheet Metal will not disclose, trade, or exploit any of your information without your consent. Sheet Metal Mechanic Job Description Join our team as a Sheet Metal Mechanic, where you will play a vital role in supporting heavy jet aircraft maintenance, including A-checks, C-checks, and more. You will work from Structural Repair Manuals, engineering drawings, and Service Bulletins to ensure high-quality repairs and maintenance. Responsibilities Read, interpret, and work from Structural Repair Manuals, engineering drawings, and Service Bulletins. Assist, guide, train, oversee, and evaluate others. Maintain attentiveness to aircraft scheduled/assigned job budgets and meet completion timelines. Complete skin repairs requiring doublers or triplers with complex contours. Perform complex repairs and replacements requiring substantial disassembly, such as wing spar and keel beam. Document all work performed according to manuals and regulations. Adhere to General Work Requirements and comply with environmental health and safety policies. Remove and install aircraft components as needed. Perform minor structural repairs on composite components. Conduct hidden damage inspections of aircraft structures. Assist with complex structural repairs on or off aircraft. Operate ground support equipment as required. Assist with aircraft component repair and mechanical/electrical removals and installations. Inspect confined areas of the airframe. Assist in designing, modifying, and welding metal fixtures as necessary. Provide time estimates as required. Essential Skills 3+ years of experience in sheet metal and riveting. Experience in commercial aviation, specifically with Airbus and Boeing aircraft. Familiarity with MRO processes. Possession of an Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license is highly preferred. Additional Skills & Qualifications Airframe license is highly preferred; candidates without a license should be working towards obtaining their 8610-2. Military experience with sheet metal airframes is acceptable.
