Description below is for sheet metal as well as some roofing aspects. What You'll Be Doing: • Reading and interpreting engineering blueprints. • Constructing base templates if necessary. • Measuring and marking out cutting and bending lines. • Setting up metalwork machinery including rollers, drill presses, flame cutters, brakes, and shears. • Double-checking design specifications before commencing with cutting work. • Fabricating and constructing metal components. • Grinding and finishing completed products. • Performing quality checks on completed products. • Conforming with state and company safety regulations. • Completing job reports • Assist job Foreman in their daily tasks and duties to help complete jobs on time and within budget. • Measure, cut, bend, set, screw down, tighten, and connect material and other components during various stages of the completion process. • Utilize tools such as, Tape Measure, Impact Drills, Aviation Snips, Ropes, Safety Anchors, Lanyards, Rivet Drivers, Hand seamers, Mechanical seamers, and other basic construction tools to accomplish each project • Keep work area and job site clean and orderly as possible to prevent injuries, fatalities, or other safety related incidents. • Look and perform professionally at all times • Communicate well with Foreman, Site Superintendent and others you may come into contact with on the job site. Minimum Qualifications • Minimum of one year experience with sheet metal fabrication or related field. • Able to lift weight of 40lbs without assistance, but not to exceed 60lbs. • Able to withstand prolonged exposure to temperatures in excess of 110 degrees. • Able to stand for long periods of time, bend over, kneel, and be in unnatural positions for extended periods of time. • Able to dawn all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
