Sheet metal manufacturing company located in Gainesville, GA is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer or Engineering Tech to join our team. Below are some of the requirements and responsibilities of the position: Requirements - 4 Year Engineering Degree (Mechanical preferred) - Will consider 2 year degree or no degree with relevant work experience - Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings/blueprints. - SolidWorks or equivalent 3D solid modeling experience a must - Outlook, Excel, Word- AutoCAD 2D experience - Attention to detail - Ability to produce high quality manufacturing prints - Ability to work on multiple project simultaneously without the need for micromanagement - Work with shop floor employees on manufacturing issues - Ability to maintain professional working relationship with customers - Ability to work in a team environment and be a helpful part of the process - Ability to check own work for completeness and accuracy Helpful Related Experience - Understanding of sheet metal fabrication - Hands on experience in a fabrication/manufacturing environment - MRP/ERP experience - Knowledge or understanding of lasers, waterjet, press brake and welding - Nesting software - Mechanical design and working with assemblies Job Responsibilities - Interpret drawings and customer specifications into order or quotes - Determine estimated cost of projects and prepares quotes for customers - E-mailing and discussing quotes with customers - Create and customize designs in SolidWorks for manufacturing - Entering quotes and manufacturing data into an MRP system - Estimating lead times and workloads for orders - Programming and preparing parts for Laser/Waterjet - Work with shop personnel on production issues This will be a hands on position where the successful candidate will work from beginning to end of each project.
