Sheet Metal Mechanic

We are looking for an experienced commercial Sheet Metal (DUCT) Mechanic/Installer in the Charleston, South Carolina area. Must have experience as a Sheet Metal Mechanic or HVAC Duct Installer, specifically for consideration. As an Experienced Sheet Metal ( DUCT) Mechanic, you will be responsible for fabricating, installing, and maintaining custom sheet metal systems for HVAC, roofing, and other commercial applications. You will work closely with project managers, contractors, and other tradespeople to ensure the efficient and high-quality completion of projects. Key Responsibilities: • Fabricate and install DUCT systems for HVAC, ductwork, and other commercial building applications. • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine materials, dimensions, and installation techniques. • Cut, bend, shape, and assemble sheet metal components using hand tools, machines, and equipment. • Install ductwork, exhaust systems, and custom metal components to ensure proper fit, function, and alignment. • Perform on-site measurements and modifications to ensure accurate installations and repairs. • Troubleshoot and repair existing sheet metal systems, identifying and resolving issues such as leaks, blockages, and system inefficiencies. • Ensure all work complies with local building codes and safety regulations. • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, following all OSHA and company safety procedures. • Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines and goals. Requirements: • Minimum 4 years of experience as a Sheet Metal Mechanic, preferably in a commercial or industrial setting. • Proven experience in fabricating and installing sheet metal systems for HVAC, roofing, or similar applications. • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics. • Strong working knowledge of sheet metal tools and equipment, including shears, brakes, saws, and welding machines. • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a team. • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. • Ability to work in various environments, including tight spaces and heights. • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. • Must pass drug testing. Some job sites may require badging approval. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work. • Knowledge of current building codes and safety regulations.
