Under the supervision of the Facility Manager, this position is responsible for the more complex and critical Medical Air, Steam, and Plumbing systems of the facility, performing a variety of building and maintenance repair tasks of a skilled and semi-skilled nature in the areas of environmental control, automated and mechanical equipment maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems. Roles and Responsibilities: • Performs skilled Plumbing work. Demonstrates skilled use of the computer facility management software system. • Performs semi-skilled HVAC work • Ability to perform and complete work at various sites throughout the healthcare network in an efficient manner. • Performs preventive maintenance on a variety of equipment according to established procedures. Inspects, calibrates, adjusts, lubricates, and repairs or replaces components of the Plumbing system. Services and repairs the more complex Plumbing equipment. Schedules and maintains records of maintenance repairs. Required Skills and Experience: • HS Diploma or equivalent experience • Demonstrable Plumbing experience • 2+ years of experience in facilities engineering in a hospital environment • 5+ years of relevant commercial plumbing experience Preferred Skills and Experience: • NYS Backflow Preventer Certification, Medical Gas ASSE 6040 certifications Preferred Physical Requirements: • This position requires the ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Requirements also include climbing, bending, and the ability to get into tight spaces while working off a ladder.
