Duties Description Perform journey level plumbing and steam-fitting work and frequently supervise others in the installation, alteration and repair of pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating, ventilating, heating control, water and drainage systems, according to specifications and plumbing codes. Minimum Qualifications Successful completion of a 2 year New York State Trades Specialist Plumber or Steamfitter or New York State Plumbing training program; or completion of any equivalent plumbing 2 year training program or apprenticeship; or 4 years full-time experience in plumbing under a skilled journey level plumber which would provide training equivalent to that given in an apprenticeship. Apprenticeship training in pluming or training gained by completion of tech courses in plumbing at school, institute or branch of the Armed Forces may be substituted on a year for year basis.
