Job Title: Pipefitter - Piping Specialist Job Summary: This is a unique opportunity to work as a skilled pipefitter in a rotational position at the Pogo Mine in Alaska. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for laying out, assembling, installing, and maintaining pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. Key Responsibilities: • Laying out and verifying piping field layouts, cutting, and preparation for welding. • Generating and interpreting isometric drawings to determine correct material grade, line class, and specifications for various piping systems. • Determining correct types of pipe supports from isometric drawings and setting up, bolting up, and performing hydro tests. • Working with different types of rigging and determining correct rigging configurations, along with determining correct rated rigging for loads being hoisted.

SUMMARY Bering Straits Technical Services, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation is currently seeking a qualified Pipefitter for Contract # W912D0-18-008, Ft. Wainwright, AK. The Pipefitters are responsible for fitting pipe consisting of various materials such as steel, cooper, copper-nickel, ABS, and stainless along with the appropriate valves and fittings utilizing various tools and equipment in accordance with drawings, arrangements and blueprints. Pipefitters install, inspect, maintain and repair the systems that deliver water needed to produce products or energy in plants, and heat or cool building systems. Pipe fitters also install and maintain gauges, valves, and switches that operate these systems. Responsibilities ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned. • Install or repairs water, steam, fuel, gas or other types of pipe and pipefittings. • Lay out work and measure to locate position of pipe from drawings or other written specifications. • Cut various sizes of pipe to correct lengths with chisel and hammer, oxyacetylene torch or pipe-cutting machines. • Thread pipe with stocks and dies or threading machines. • Bend pipe by hand-driven or power-driven machines. • Capable of repairing/replacing pumps, valves, lift station components. • Assemble pipe with couplings and fasten pipe to hangers. • Maintain Med-gas systems (current certification) • Make standard shop computations relating to pressures, flow and size of pipe required and making standard tests to determine whether finished pipes meet specifications. • Ensures work orders when complete are properly filled out and returned to work management. • Supports the project Safety Plan through personal involvement in all aspects of safety, including training and attention to the adherence to safety requirements pertaining to particular trades or skills. • This position has been designated as Mission Critical. Mission Critical personnel are defined as those required to meet the Installation’s safety (including inclement weather for snow and ice control operations and security needs during lockdown conditions. • This position may be part of an emergency management/response team as required by the company to meet contract requirements. • Other duties as assigned. Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications (applies to both this section and KSAO’s) • Journeyman level with current Backflow prevention certification • 3 year’s experience of air-conditioning and refrigeration (Universal certification: 608 Card) • High school diploma or equivalent with applicable trade school or 5 year’s experience • Must have a valid, non-limited minimum Class D (or non-commercial state equivalent) State Driver’s License • Experience acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience • Facilities maintenance experience and knowledge of required work ranging in a variety of maintenance and repairs • Experience repairing/replacing typical plumbing fixtures and drain clearance techniques • Successful completion of STAR Plumbing Mastery (or equivalent) and Code Exams Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics • Knowledge of the ANSI, ASME, an PFI codes and standards • Knowledge of the functional operation and purpose OD the various piping system components such as valves, fittings and expansion joints • Knowledge of the various sizes and grades of standard materials employed in an industrial plant such as bolts, gaskets, fittings and valves • Ability to read, interpret and determine dimensional information for drawings and specifications such as isometrics, orthographic, P&ID's, Equipment arrangements, etc. • Ability to measure accurately, layout work, cut, straighten, bevel, thread and fit pipe NECESSARY PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS The first paragraph is part of the JD and is required. Minimum five (5) years of experience as a pipefitter required. Must be proficient with hand and power tools. Experience with lifting and setting of heavy lift pipe spools, pumps, motors, and structural pipe supports. Experience and skill in piping craft in an industrial setting. Knowledge of Victaulic, HDPE Fusion, ABS and Carbon Steel piping. Knowledge in P&ID interpretation, mathematics, triangulation of complex offsets. Excellent verbal and written communication with positive interpersonal skills. Driver's license and acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years to be eligible under company vehicle insurance policy preferred.
