Construction Laborer

Job Info • Job Location : Lewisburg, PA • Transmission Type : Automatic Job Requirements • CDL Class: CDL B • Experience: 0+ (includes CDL students) Additional Information Job Description: With this laborer position, you will be part of one of our roadside construction crews that install/repair guiderail throughout Eastern Pennsylvania. Laborer duties may include unloading & loading materials; aligning, securing and layout of guide rail material; traffic control duties; and other various tasks. Having a Class A or B commercial driver license (CDL) is preferred but not required. For those applicants who do not currently possess a CDL license, assistance may be provided in order to obtain a CDL license. Applicants must be able to lift 50 lbs. regularly throughout the day. You must be 18 years of age to apply and must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening. Work Schedule: Work schedule varies. Applicants must be available to work over-time and rain make-up days. Ability to stay out of town overnight may be required. Rate of Pay: Union scale pay rate based on position/job, but wages typically range from $26-$35/hr. We offer weekly pay and per diem. Incentives given for laborers who have their CDL license. Excellent benefits package (including a pension) available through the Union. Work Area: Work will be located primarily throughout PA and OH. Minimum of 2 years of foreman experience on highway/roadway construction projects. Experience should include project layout and set-up, scheduling of manpower, equipment and materials with knowledge of subgrade preparation, water, sanitary and storm drainage pipe installation. Demonstrate decision making skills, the ability to manage, supervise, schedule and delegate directions to a crew. Must have the ability to read and follow plans and DOT specifications. Computer skills are preferred with the use of programs such as Microsoft Excel, Word and any other job-related software required by the company or project. A professional work ethic and attitude with good communication skills are necessary for effective communication with project owners, inspectors and subcontractors. Must be willing to travel, work various shifts and follow all company safety policies and procedures.
