Electric Technician – Packaging Industry

About the Role Responsible for the electrical installation and setup of industrial machinery at customer sites, ensuring full alignment with technical documentation and project plans. Acts as the key liaison between the client, the electrical technical office, and the project management team to guarantee timely, efficient, and high-quality execution. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Assemble and commission equipment at TAVIL's headquarters using the customer’s product to verify performance • Prepare installation and all necessary auxiliary materials for shipment and on-site setup • Perform on-site electrical installations for industrial automation projects • Supervise and report progress to the Electrical Technical Office Lead • Identify and resolve electrical-related issues during installation • Support commissioning by conducting functional tests and making necessary electrical adjustments in collaboration with programmers • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and documentation standards throughout the project • Maintain an organized, clean, and OSHA-compliant work area during all phases • Suggest improvements to optimize future installation processes • Provide support to the After-Sales (SAT) team for inspections and electrical retrofitting interventions • Coordinate subcontracted electrical teams during installations when required COMPETENCIES • Flexibility – Adapts to evolving project requirements and site conditions • Initiative – Acts quickly to solve problems and seize opportunities • Responsibility – Takes ownership across all phases of the project • Customer Focus – Proactively supports customer needs and maintains open communication • Teamwork & Cooperation – Collaborates transparently and constructively with all stakeholders • Attention to Detail & Quality – Delivers work to the highest standards with precision • Communication Skills – Clearly conveys technical and operational information REQUIRED EDUCATION • Higher or Intermediate Vocational Training in Electricity TECHNICAL SKILLS • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in industrial (non-residential) electrical installations • Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, 2D machine layouts, and pneumatic diagrams • Familiarity with pneumatics and MS Office tools • Proficient with installation tools including threading drills, cutting/crimping tools, multimeters, voltage/current testers, and communication cable testers • Experience with stainless steel cutting tools for cable trays and conduit installation LANGUAGES • English: Proficient • Spanish: Advanced REQUIREMENTS • Valid U.S. driver’s license and passport • Certified to operate aerial work platforms (scissor lifts, boom lifts) • Forklift certification per OSHA 29 CFR 1910.178 is a strong asset • Electrical certification (e.g., Arc Flash, UL installations) • OSHA 10/30 certification preferred or willingness to complete training • Comfortable working at height using OSHA-compliant equipment • Willingness to travel up to 85% (domestic and occasional international) • Must be based in or willing to relocate to Pennsylvania (ideally near Fredericksburg) Job Type: Full-time Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year Benefits: • Health insurance • Paid time off Schedule: • 8 hour shift • No nights • Weekends as needed Education: • Associate (Required) Language: • Spanish (Required) Willingness to travel: • 75% (Required) Work Location: On the road

BENEFITS: • Benefits Day 1: Medical, Dental, Vision! • Retirement: 401(k) match up to 8% • Referral Bonus: up to $2,000! • Training & Education: Tuition Reimbursement WHAT ELECTRICAL MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE TECHNICIANS GET TO DO • Acts as a safety leader and puts safety first in all responsibilities. • Performs necessary repairs and preventative maintenance on equipment and facility. • Troubleshoots electrical problems using manufacturers schematics and manuals. • Assists the equipment support person as needed with electrical repairs of the support equipment. • May make repairs to motors and gear boxes such as changing bearings, wiring repair, etc. • Problem solves issues concerning equipment operation and manufacturing processes where these relate to maximizing output. • Fills out maintenance request forms and may fill out work order. • Involvement in developmental project work including working with R&D, manufacturing and outside equipment and parts vendors. • Functions as part of the technical resources for the on-site staff. • Performs welding, cutting, drilling using electrical power tools as needed for fabrication. • Knowledge of procedures, work instructions and associated forms as required by the Key Area Leader. • Performs other projects/duties as assigned. (Allen Bradley 500 and 5000 software) • Use multi-meter to check voltage, resistance, and amps • Knowledge of Ohms Law/Watts Law • Ability to troubleshoot and repair, VFD, PLC, HMI, heating, and low voltage controls. • Knowledge of 3 phase motor rotation • Understanding of mechanical blueprint and schematics. • Plumbing/Hydraulics (hose fabrication, fitting ID and application) • Basic Welding (mig or stick, weld in position) • Ability to operate a drill press, lathe, mill and shop equipment.
