You will report directly to the Plant Manager and will have the opportunity to learn and take on responsibilities across all areas of our shop. In this role, you will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and wallboard, using hand tools and power tools. You will work closely with other team members to ensure that projects are completed on time and to the highest standards of quality. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Cut wood to length on saw • Assemble skids and crates • Move raw materials and finished product with hand trucks or forklift • Stage raw materials for assembly • Package finished goods for shipment • Stock completed items in the appropriate place • Clean up work area • Forklift operation (once certified) • Assist other work areas as required to complete production requirements Qualifications: • 5+ years’ carpentry, construction, or military background • 5+ years’ experience in operation and maintenance of wood cutting and assembly equipment (table saw, beam saw, upcut saw, etc.). • Strong mechanical aptitude • Read blueprints • Able to perform skilled work with a high degree of difficulty. • A high degree of initiative and creativity is required due to the complex nature of the situations/conditions of the position. • Must have the ability to work independently • Ability to effectively problem-solve • Ability to communicate well with co-workers and customers. • Ability to lead, direct, mentor and supervise team members. • Exhibits care and strong attention to detail Preferred but Not Required: • Forklift certification • ***Veterans Are Encouraged to Apply***
