Location: Kauaʻi, HI Employment Type: Full-time Reports To: Project Manager Job Overview Kauakahi Services Inc. is seeking a skilled and dependable Framing Carpenter to join our construction team. This position plays a critical role in the successful execution of structural and finishing work across diverse projects. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in framing, concrete forming, metal building erection, and related construction trades, along with a commitment to safety, quality, and timely completion of work. Key Responsibilities • Perform framing carpentry including wood and metal stud framing, trim carpentry, and woodworking. • Erect metal buildings and perform concrete forming to establish structural foundations. • Install rebar, pour, and finish concrete to specified tolerances. • Execute masonry tasks including bricklaying, block work, and stone setting. • Conduct welding to join or repair metal components as required. • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately. • Operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment safely and efficiently. • Perform additional construction tasks such as roofing, siding installation, plastering, stucco, and remodeling. • Assist in restoration projects, ensuring structural integrity and aesthetic quality. • Maintain worksite safety and adhere to company and OSHA standards. • Other duties as described by your supervisor Physical Requirements • Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and climb for extended periods. • Capable of lifting and carrying up to 75 lbs regularly. • Work in all weather conditions including heat, rain, and humidity. • Comfortable working at heights up to 30 feet using ladders, scaffolding, or lifts. • Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination for precision carpentry and tool handling. • Stamina to perform physically demanding work over long shifts. • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times. Experience & Qualifications • Minimum 3–5 years of carpentry and general construction experience. • Proven skill in framing, concrete forming, rebar installation, and finishing. • Experience in masonry, welding, and heavy equipment operation preferred. • Ability to read and interpret construction plans accurately. • Knowledge of construction safety procedures and compliance requirements. • Strong work ethic, reliability, and teamwork skills. Work Environment • Construction sites with variable noise levels and physical demands. • Outdoor and indoor job settings. • May require overtime or weekend work based on project needs.
