Senior Engineer - Manufacturing (Electrical Controls)

POSITION: Senior Engineer - Manufacturing (Electrical Controls) KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Design and implement control systems, including PLCs and supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA). • Conduct functional tests and troubleshoot issues, documenting results to ensure optimal operation of control systems. • Ensure systems meet industry standards and specific operational requirements. • Oversee the upgrade, rebuilding, installation, and startup of process equipment. • Lead the development of new equipment specifications and standards. • Utilize knowledge of electrical distribution equipment up to 13.8 kV. • Demonstrate experience with PLCs, especially in safety and material tracking. • Work with Manufacturing Execution System (MES) interfaces. • Program and commission Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs). • Analyze key process measures to identify major issues and root causes. • Identify and resolve equipment safety concerns effectively. • Provide technical assistance for process, product, and maintenance-related challenges. • Manage external resources such as contractors and equipment vendors for assigned projects. • Develop and enforce standards, specifications, and procedures for efficient production and compliance. • Define engineered rates for equipment and review new process equipment for purchase recommendations. • Oversee the implementation of moderate-sized capital projects. • Engage in parts and supply development and reverse engineering. • Identify opportunities for Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) improvements and lead initiatives. • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
