About the position Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) is seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our Facilities Management team at the Muhlenberg location. This full-time position operates on a day shift schedule, from Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. As a Carpenter, you will play a crucial role in constructing, installing, maintaining, and repairing various woodworking elements, including casework, cabinetry, and shelving. Your expertise will also extend to maintaining and repairing doors and associated hardware, ensuring that fire and smoke walls meet required safety ratings, and installing wall protection as needed. In this role, you will respond to trouble calls and work requests, addressing emergency situations promptly. You will utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to document your time and work completion efficiently. Infection Control measures (ICRA) will be a critical aspect of your projects and maintenance tasks, ensuring a safe environment for both staff and patients. You will also assist colleagues from various trades, procure materials, and maintain inventory to support the department's operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry and building construction, with at least three years of relevant experience. You will need to demonstrate proficiency in carpentry techniques and possess a solid understanding of building construction principles. The ability to analyze and resolve problems using basic scientific, mathematical, or technical principles is essential, along with mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity. A valid Pennsylvania driver's license is required for this position.
